- Can you make my sugar flowers or cupcakes if I have allergies? I create all of my sugar flowers and bake and decorate all of my cupcakes in my home kitchen. This is an environment where all allergens including nuts, gluten, wheat, dairy, eggs and soya are present. Due to potential cross contamination everything produced in my kitchen may contain allergens even if they are not used as an ingredient in your cake. I will ask you about allergens when you make your initial enquiry and we can have a conversation around the risk my kitchen could present to you (or your guests), as a result of this I may not be able to make your sugar flowers or cupcakes.
- Do you have a minimum order? When you order cupcakes there is an minimum order of 24 cupcakes. There is no minimum order for sugar flowers.
- How far in advance do I need to order? You should contact me as far in advance as possible. You do not need to finalise the exact design as we can work out the details later, but you should secure the date with me as soon as you can. Generally I can accommodate orders with 1 month notice, and will try to accommodate short notice bookings where I can.
- I do not want sugar flowers or cupcakes can I order anything else? Yes! I can offer decorated brownies, brownie stacks, decorated chocolate eggs (when available). If you have any other ideas get in touch and we chat about them.
- Can you put my favourite cartoon character on my cupcakes? It will depend on the character. Most characters from cartoons, films and TV are covered by copyright which means that I cannot make anything in their likeness. There are some that are no longer covered by copyright where it might be possible so it is worth asking and I can check for you (this also applies to other images covered by copyright e.g. logos). I will not make anything covered by copyright law.
- What sorts of occasions can you design a sugar flowers and cupcakes for? I can design both sugar flowers and cupcakes for any occasion or for no occasion if you just want to treat yourself!
- How should I store my cupcakes? I will provide you will full storage instructions with your cupcakes. I do not use high risk fillings such as cream so your cupcakes will not need to be stored in the fridge. You should leave your the cupcakes in the box they are supplied in and leave it in a cool dark place. Your cupcakes should be stored out of direct sunlight and away from heat.
- Can you deliver my cupcakes? Yes. You can collect your cupcakes or I can deliver these for you. Depending on your location there may be a delivery charge.
- I don’t know how to add sugar flowers to my cake – can you do this for me? Yes! I can made your sugar flowers and depending on your venue I can come and add them to the cake on the day. This gives you the confidence that you won’t break any flowers while arranging them on your cake. It also means that you can have more complex designs.
- Can sugar flowers be posted to me? Yes, some flowers are more fragile that others when posted but we can chat about this as part of your initial enquiry.
- Can I keep the sugar flowers? Yes! You should remove your sugar flowers before cutting your cake. They are fragile so ensure that you are careful with them. You can keep them in a vase away from moisture and away from direct sunshine for a number of years – I’ll give you full care instructions with your sugar flowers.
